Renewing a fireplace.
An open fireplace becomes a place fit for a modern stove.
This old fireplace had been sadly
treated. Hacked around in past years and with broken plaster it was
a sorry case. Halnaker fitters and Brick workers cleaned it back to
the solid brickwork and prepared the space for a new hearth and
bricking. |
All complete and ready for the final
white plaster and paint work with a stove in place; tested and
looking very elegant. |
|
With the broken and
scarred brickwork trimmed away the corners and returns were
returned to the original state, then neatly plastered. a new mantel
was placed and the black hearth renewed in one piece. |
Then an ash fire surround
was added before this large stove was placed. |
